Chinnery Construction was engaged to deliver the construction of a new water pipeline west of the Hurunui Water Treatment Plant. The project involved the installation of approximately 650 m of DN250 PE100 PN25 pipeline from the existing main on the first terrace toward the farm entrance, including a PN25 sluice valve, tee, and drain/flushing point. The pipeline continued west through a pre-installed highway sleeve and uphill for 376m of DN225 PE100 PN20 pipe, transitioning to DN225 PE100 PN12.5 midway up the hill.

From there, the line extended to connect with the first existing reservoir via the inlet pipework (approximately 280 m), and then a further 1190 m of DN225 PE100 PN12.5 pipeline to the second reservoir for final connection.

Chinnery Construction was responsible for all welding, fittings, and connections, including the provision of test certifications. The project also encompassed full health and safety, environmental management, coordination with suppliers for pipe delivery, and reinstatement of any disturbed surfaces.
