Nic Chinnery
OWNER/MANAGING DIRECTOR
Nic has over 15 years of construction industry experience. Nic started in the industry as a Labourer and worked his way into the roles of Foreman, Project Manager and General Manager before starting his own venture as an owner-operator of Chinnery Construction Ltd.
Along with Nic’s passion for the civil industry, his on site and contract management experience, enables him to provide clients with exceptional quality. He has led major infrastructure projects and coordinated multiple crews on complex projects. His drive and determination have been displayed in the continued client relationships.

James Fong
GENERAL MANAGER
James is new to Chinnery Construction and brings with him nearly 15 years of valuable experience in the civil construction industry. His background includes managing a wide range of projects, from major earthworks and civil works on the New Zealand International Convention Centre in Auckland to residential drainage and floor slab installations.
James’s attention to detail, and ability to balance both the big picture and the finer project elements make him a strong addition to our team. His extensive skill set and collaborative approach will ensure he integrates seamlessly into Chinnery Construction.

Denym Prendeville
LEADING HAND/FOREMAN
Denym brings over 10 years of experience in the construction industry, having progressed from an initial role as a Labourer to Foreman at Chinnery Construction Ltd through hard work and dedication. His strong hands-on experience and well-developed skill set enable him to lead crews effectively and deliver consistent, high-quality results across a range of projects. Denym takes pride in his workmanship and maintains a strong focus on detail, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to specification.

Lachlan Hill
2IC/OPERATOR
Lachlan brings over 10 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, developing a strong foundation through practical, on-site work. Since joining Chinnery Construction Ltd as an Operator, he has progressed into the role of 2IC through dedication, reliability, and a strong work ethic. His practical knowledge and proactive approach enable him to support site operations effectively, helping coordinate crews and ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
In line with Chinnery’s values, Lachlan maintains a strong focus on quality and productivity, playing a key role in keeping projects on schedule and running smoothly. His dependable nature and leadership support make him a valued member of the team.

Grant Hughes
FOREMAN
Grant brings over 10 years of experience in the construction industry, having progressed from an initial role as a Labourer to his current position as a Foreman at Chinnery Construction Ltd.
His strong work ethic, practical knowledge, and hands-on experience enable him to consistently deliver high-quality results across a range of projects. In line with Chinnery’s values, Grant maintains a strong focus on workmanship and efficiency, ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard. William Peterken
FOREMAN/WATER INSTALLER
William brings over 20 years of experience in the construction industry specialising in Water Reticulation, having progressed from an initial role as a Labourer to positions such as Network Operator, Leading Hand, Foreman and Supervisor.
His comprehensive onsite hands-on expertise, combined with a strong passion for water reticulation, allows him to provide exceptional quality work for Chinnery Construction and their clients. William has successfully been part of major infrastructure projects, coordinating his crews and subcontractors on complex assignments. His commitment to excellence is reflected in the long-standing relationships he has maintained with clients throughout his career.

Ollie Bithray
FOREMAN
Oliver brings extensive experience in the civil construction industry, specialising in watermain installation, drainage, and excavation. Progressing from a hands-on drainlayer to Foreman roles across multiple companies, he has developed strong leadership skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach on site.
Oliver has contributed to a range of key projects, including large-scale commercial and residential developments, where he has successfully led crews and coordinated subcontractors to meet project deadlines and standards. His commitment to health and safety, combined with his strong work ethic, makes him a reliable and valued member of the team.

Alex Power
QUANTITY SURVEYOR/QA
Alex is a versatile member of the team with a solid background in truck driving and civil construction. Currently studying a Bachelor of Construction (Quantity Surveying), Alex combines hands-on experience with developing technical knowledge. His skillset includes truck driving, general labouring, basic operating, and civil works along with supporting quality assurance processes.
Alex is a reliable all-rounder and is known for his strong work ethic, adaptability, and willingness to step in wherever needed, making him a valued part of the team.
