School Rd Drainage Upgrades

Chinnery Construction was engaged to complete a stormwater infrastructure upgrade along School Road in Woodend, including the extension of the existing stormwater main and raising the eastern driveway at 10 School Road. The project was designed to improve drainage capacity and site access while integrating with the surrounding road and berm infrastructure.

Works included the installation of 21m of DN225 sump leads, 95m of DN300 pipe, 77m of DN375 pipe, and four DN1050 manholes and sumps. The team also carried out driveway regrading and raising, road and berm adjustments, asphalt reinstatement, CCTV inspection, and pressure testing to ensure the new network met all performance requirements.

All works were completed in accordance with the approved design and in close coordination with Waimakariri District Council. Due to the project’s proximity to Woodend School, careful planning and traffic management were implemented to minimise disruption and maintain public safety throughout construction.
